About the Platypus Eco Tours at Cumbungi Sanctuary
We invite you on our twilight Platypus Eco Tour. Spend a couple of hours with one of our experienced interpretive guides viewing this amazing animal in a natural environment. We are so confident that we will see a Platypus on our tour that we guarantee* a platypus sighting!
As you meander through the Eucalypt forest, keep your eyes open for the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoots, Woylies, Potoroos, Rufous Bettongs, Tammar Wallabies, Red-necked Wallabies, Euros, Kangaroos, Quolls, Koalas and Possums.
Please note that our Platypus Eco Tours are personalised tours, with a maximum of 10 people.
What To Bring?
It can become quite cool in the hills, even during the summer time, so make sure you bring a jumper or coat and sensible walking shoes. Don't forget your cameras as this is a perfect opportunity to capture this beautiful animal in a natural setting. In inclement weather an umbrella is also advisable.
Tour Times
Tours can run on any day but advance bookings are required.
Tour times will vary as the ambient light depends very much on local weather conditions. Different seasons will also influence the feeding habits of the platypus. We take these into consideration to provide you with the best viewing opportunity possible.
The following information is provided to you as a planning guide ONLY. These are not actual departure times but are sunset times. Tours will normally leave one hour before sunset but we will confirm the ACTUAL departure time when you make your booking. Please note that you will need to be here at Cumbungi Sanctuary at least 15 minutes before the proposed tour time.

Tour Price
The price of the Platypus Eco Tour is AUD$40.00 per adult.
Children under the age of 16 years are admitted half price with an accompanying adult. We guarantee* that we will see a platypus on the Platypus EcoTour.
We do offer a discount to repeat visitors who are accompanying or escorting out of town visitors to Cumbungi Sanctuary. Please enquire at time of booking.
